CLOSING DATE 1st MAY 2018
(Completed entry forms MUST be put into the box in the bar)
The summer championships this year will start in May and run throughout the summer with the finals being held over the weekend 15th and 16th of September 2018. Please note all finals will be played this weekend.
To qualify for age specific events you must have reached that age by 1 April 2018.
The draws will put on the tennis board in the lobby once they have been made. Each round will include a “play by” date shown below. Please ensure your match is played by the date shown. Failure to play your match by this date will result in forfeiture.
Doubles pairing cannot be changed once the first round matches have been played.
If you lose a first round singles match (if numbers permit) you will go into a plate draw which will be apparent from the singles draw sheets.
Entrants are expected to check the finals day programme and ensure that they are available. If you enter multiple events you must be prepared to play back to back finals. Any dispute, after discussion with both parties, will be settled by Nick Andrews or Gary Waghorne whose decision will be final. No finals will be played outside of the finals weekend except for cancellations due to inclement weather.
All matches (except the Mixed Handicap Doubles and Invitation Pairs) are the best of three tie break sets. The Mixed Handicap Doubles is the best if three full sets without tie breaks.
Mixed Handicap Doubles – A draw will be made to partner a man with a lady. Each match will be best of three sets without tie breaks. If games scores are tied the game will start at love all. If one pair is winning the losing pair will start the game up by the amount of games they are behind. For example if couple A are winning 3 games to 2 couple B will start the next game 15-0 up. If couple B are winning 4 games to 2 couple A will start 30-0 up – etc.
Invitation Pairs – Each match will consist of 15 games, every game to be played and the result entered on the score sheet. The final, being the best of three sets, will be between the two pairs who score the most points. The league will be on a round robin basis. Pairs can be of any gender.
Entry to each event will cost £3-00 per person per event to cover the cost of engraving, prizes and balls on finals day. Please tick the event you wish to enter on the back of this form and affix the stamps (from the machines in the squash courts) in the usual way. You can also pay by cheque (please write cheque on entry form), made payable to CBSSC or by internet banking – Sort Code 72-06-00 Account number 06529771. If you pay by internet transfer please email Malcolm on [email protected] to let him know and write internet on entry form. Any fees which are unpaid on 30 June will result in disqualification.
